James Freeman Victoria Bakery is owned and run by James and Debbie Freeman, the fifth generation of Master Bakers in North London.

The business was started by James's great-great-grandfather, Robert Freeman in 1827 in nearby Highgate. The business philosophy is to provide ‘Quality Service Second to None.’

We use time honoured traditional methods such as overnight fermentation of our doughs and baking bread on the stone floor of our ovens to produce really tasty crusty bread.

Retail outlets

We have two shops, one in front of our bakery on High Street, Barnet and another nearby in The Spires Shoppping Centre.

Our staff are friendly and helpful and will be pleased to help you in any way. Our customers are mainly local - many coming to us every day - whilst others come from further afield and even abroad.

Wholesale customers

We supply a small selection of local hotels, pubs and clubs with a range of our products. Our customers include West Lodge Park Hotel and The Sun at Northaw and Willows Farm Village.

Management and staff are trained to high standards of food hygiene to ensure food safety and quality.
